Kamal Kharazi, a senior adviser to Iran's supreme leader and former Iranian foreign minister, has died after being wounded in what Tehran called a US-Israeli attack targeting his home in early April.

Kharazi, "who had previously been wounded after an attack by the American-Zionist enemy, passed away a few hours ago," Iranian official media reported.

Kharaz's wife was killed in the attack, while he was seriously injured and rushed to a hospital, Iranian officials said last week.

In an interview in March, Kharazi told CNN that he believed Iran could sustain the conflict for an extended period and said he saw no room for diplomacy. He predicted that the war would only end through the economic pain it causes.
