Iran is preparing to attack Israel with rockets, according to a senior U.S. official.

"Iran is preparing to launch a ballistic missile attack on Israel "immediately," according to a senior U.S. administration official, who warned Tuesday of "grave consequences" if it occurs. White House officials did not immediately offer any evidence supporting her intelligence findings, the Associated Press reports.

The alert comes days after Israel killed Hezbollah's leader in a rocket attack in Beirutu, and a day after Israeli troops launched an invasion into Lebanon.
