A photo of the back of the Prime Minister of Finland, Sana Marin has sparked a wave of reactions in the media. The 36-year-old was photographed pushing her daughter's pram.

According to foreign media, the Media Council in the country (JSN) has received a complaint regarding the publication of this photo from the Finnish magazine Seiska.

The photo was published last week and many Finns described the photo as sexist.

On the other hand JSN president Iro Hivonine said in a statement that a complaint has been filed regarding this photo and it will be considered by the end of June. JSN is an oversight body set up by print media and journalists.

The complaint to JSN can be made by any citizen who thinks that there has been a violation of fair journalistic practice in the media.

At the same time, the director of the magazine Seiska defended the choice to publish the photo. The complaint was submitted to the Finnish media council by a person whose identity is unknown, citing respect for human dignity and protection of privacy.

While the Finnish Prime Minister herself has not yet reacted regarding the photo. Sanna Marin recently posted on her Instagram account a photo where she is seen playing basketball. She accompanies the photos with the expression: "I defeated the coronavirus". However, this is not the first time that a photo of the Finnish Prime Minister provokes reactions. Even in 2020 Sana Marin has been in the spotlight when she posed for Trend magazine with an open jacket.
