Attacks on Iran, Trump threatens to bomb bridges and power plants

US President Donald Trump threatened to attack Iran's bridges and power plants next week if it does not return to talks.

He made the comments during an interview with Fox News as the two countries exchanged fire for the fourth consecutive day after the end of the ceasefire.

Earlier, Trump canceled the threat of a 20% tariff on all cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz, but resumed the blockade of Iranian ports.

"Next week it's going to get really bad for them. We're going to blow up all their power plants. We're going to blow up all their bridges if they don't sit at the table and negotiate," he said.

Trump said US negotiators had told their Iranian counterparts on Tuesday evening that "you better make a deal, or you'll have nothing left."

The escalation of rhetoric comes after Trump said the 20% tax he had threatened to impose on the Strait of Hormuz would be replaced by "massive" trade and investment deals with Gulf states.


His announcement came hours before the US resumed its blockade of Iranian ports.
