New details have come to light from the execution of the former Miss Ecuador, Landy Párraga Goyburo .

She was shot by two people while she was talking to someone inside a restaurant in Quevedo on Sunday.

At one point she spots the aggressors and tries to duck, but one of the gunmen runs towards her and shoots her with a gun.

The former missus' name was mentioned last December in a conversation between slain drug trafficker Leandro Norero and his accountant, Helive Angulo.

During Angulo's trial, prosecutors revealed that Norero had pleaded with Angulo in a text message to help him keep his relationship with the beauty queen a secret.

After this detail, it is suspected that the assassination attempt on her is related to the relationship with the cocaine boss.

"My friend, her name cannot be published anywhere. Otherwise, my world will collapse," he wrote in the messages.

Norero was known as one of the biggest traffickers in Ecuador and went by the nickname "El Patron".

He is suspected as the person who ordered the murder of Ergys Dashi.

Norero was executed in prison in 2022, where he was beheaded after a riot among the convicts inside the cells.

Leandro Antonio Norero Tigua, alias El Patron, was arrested for a money laundering case. 'El Patron' was arrested for running an organization linked to money laundering, financed by organized crime groups. Over 6 million dollars in gold bars, weapons and jewelry were seized in the operation.

Norero's beginnings in criminal activity date back to 2005. In his youth he was part of Los Ñetas and was ranked as one of the "invisible drug traffickers" operating in the country.

Over the following years, Norero reportedly received the support of corrupt politicians, which allowed him to organize drug trafficking networks from the ports of Guayaquil and Machala.
