Belgrade police chief arrested on suspicion of covering up a murder and disposing of the victim's body

One of the highest-ranking figures in Serbia's security system has been arrested in Belgrade on suspicion of involvement in the concealment of a crime and aiding in the disappearance of the victim's body.

The arrested person is the director of the Belgrade Police, Veselin Mili?, who is suspected of being involved in the case of the disappearance of a 52-year-old man.

According to local media, the victim was last seen at a restaurant in the Senjak neighborhood of Belgrade.

The prosecution announced that Mili? has been remanded in custody on suspicion of failing to report a criminal offense, as well as aiding and abetting the alleged perpetrator of the murder.

Following his arrest, the Serbian Interior Ministry announced his dismissal from office.

Meanwhile, the owner and waiter of the restaurant where the 52-year-old was last seen have also been arrested in connection with the case, as well as two other people suspected of attempted murder.
