While Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was speaking in Brussels, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio gave an interview in the US, where he commented on the prospects for a peace agreement in Ukraine.

Rubio, who was part of the summit hosted by President Trump with Vladimir Putin, stressed that both Russia and Ukraine would have to make significant concessions to reach an agreement.

He added that both sides are asking for things that, in his opinion, they will not be able to get, implying that it is probably not possible for the US to create an immediate scenario to end the war.

Referring to the upcoming talks, Rubio stressed that a necessary part of the agreement should be the discussion of security guarantees for Ukraine.

According to the Secretary of State, the US has noted positive developments that justify organizing a new meeting with President Zelensky to further discuss the situation.
