Betrayal, alcohol abuse, gambling and jealousy are often the cause of violence experienced by women in many families in Kosovo. Every day, cases of women who are violated in different ways by the people who have chosen to share their lives with them are reported to the Police.

Such a case happened in the village of Prëlepnicë in Gjilan and was reported to the Police on Tuesday, by a woman who was physically attacked by her husband.

Sources within the Prosecutor's Office for "Sinjalin" have informed that the victim reported the physical violence that her husband used, after she caught him cheating on her with another woman.

The drama that happened in their house, where the victim caught her husband with his girlfriend, degenerated from a verbal conflict into physical violence, thus suffering the woman who demanded an account from her husband.

The woman suffered bodily injuries, for which she was sent to the Emergency Department of the Regional Hospital to receive medical treatment.

After the case was reported, the suspect was arrested and escorted to the police station, where he gave his statement regarding the crimes he was charged with.

With the completion of the police procedures, the State Prosecutor has ordered his detention for 48 hours, the initiation of the case for the offenses "Domestic Violence" and "Slight Bodily Injury", as well as the submission of the criminal report within the legal deadline.
