"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will preserve and protect the Constitution of the United States," Trump said in his oath.

From this moment on, he takes power, becoming the 47th president in the country's history.

Trump returns to the White House after a presidential term interruption after losing the last election to Joe Biden.

For the first time in four decades, the swearing-in ceremony was held indoors at the Capitol due to freezing temperatures. More than 200,000 people bought tickets to watch the ceremony live in the designated area.

Washington is armored by strict security measures. A staff of 25,000 agents guarantee security, with special help from drones, snipers and multiple fences with wire mesh and concrete blocks.
