MP calls for urgent meeting of Kosovo Assembly to elect Hashim Thaçi as

Democratic League of Kosovo MP Ermal Sadiku has reacted after the Specialized Chambers' verdict against former President Hashim Thaçi, proposing a symbolic action by Albanian MPs in the Kosovo Assembly.

Sadiku said that, if it were up to him, Albanian MPs would gather tonight and vote for Thaçi as president of the Republic.

"Tonight I was gathered with all the Albanian MPs and we voted for Hashim Thaçi for president of the Republic. 100 votes," Sadiku wrote.

According to the LDK MP, such an action would serve as a political message to the Specialist Chambers and Serbia after today's decision.

"Tell both the Special Court and Serbia, on whose behalf they are making decisions," he concluded.
