If Putin were a woman, he would not have invaded Ukraine.
Seemingly somewhat strange, the statement of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, however, has argument.
He believes that war is a "perfect example of toxic masculinity".
In an interview with German media after the G7 summit in Schloss Elmau, the prime minister mentioned the gender of the Russian president as a contributing factor to the conflict.
"If Putin were a woman, which he certainly is not, if he were, I really do not think he would have started a crazy war," Johnson told ZDF.
"If you want a perfect example of toxic masculinity, this is what he is doing in Ukraine," he added.
Western leaders wrapped up the three-day G7 summit in southern Germany by vowing to increase economic and political costs for Putin and his regime.
