Tragic accident in Crete

A tragic accident happened today in Chania, Crete. According to the neighboring media, three young men, aged 15, 19 and 20, have lost their lives, while a 22-year-old girl has been seriously injured.

The incident happened this morning on the northern road axis of Crete.

According to information from the local media, two of the young people breathed their last at the scene of the accident, while the third died in the Chania Hospital Emergency.

How did the tragedy happen?

The car in which the four young people were traveling collided in the Galata area with a van in which a total of 19 people were traveling.

According to information from police sources, and while preliminary investigations continue, there is evidence, as Cretalive reports, that the car allegedly tried to overtake, but the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with the van.

The passengers of the car were trapped and the help of the firemen was needed to get them out.

The people traveling in the van did not suffer serious injuries, but were sent to Chania Hospital for a check-up.
