The Presidency of Kosovo has reacted to the news that a police officer in Kosovo shot and killed 89-year-old Sadri Sadriu, who is believed to be the uncle of the First Gentleman, Prindon Sadriu, the husband of President Vjosa Osmani.

According to the local media, the incident is supposed to have happened for weak motives, where the victim Sadriu is suspected of sexually harassing and assaulting two girls, relatives of the arrested policeman Festim Ramadani.

Also, the media reports that Prindon Sadriu and Vjosa Osmani had joined a communication group on Facebook, where the Ramadani family had confessed all their claims about the already victim Sadri Sadriu, about the situation.

However, in a statement to the media, President Osmani's chief of staff, Bekim Kupina, states that this tendency is with the clear purpose of denigrating and endangering the life of the President and her immediate family.

He said that the President is in constant contact with the security institutions so that this clear plan for endangering her life and that of her family is treated as a priority.

Also, Kupina informed that the presidential couple do not use any communication group in any social networks and the claims raised do not stand.

"All this is slander with the aim of implicating the President in situations for which he has neither knowledge nor connection. Neither the President nor the First Gentleman use any communication group on any social network. This is completely untrue and biased.

This tendency is with the clear purpose of denigrating and endangering the life of the President and her immediate family. The President will oppose these trends by any legal means and has already asked the security institutions to deal with this urgently. 

The tendency to relate last night's case to the President and her immediate family turns her into a target, putting their lives at risk.

This has nothing to do with professional media reporting standards. The president is in constant contact with the security institutions so that this clear plan for endangering her life and that of her family is treated as a priority", said Kupina.

The serious event took place yesterday evening, in the village of Bibaj in Ferizaj, where the police officer, Festim Ramadani, shot dead the 89-year-old Sadri Sadriu in the parking lot of a restaurant where a wedding was taking place.

According to the media, the victim was at the wedding of a relative of his, while the policeman was not, while the exact circumstances of this serious event are not yet known.
