Thousands of pages of transcripts of encrypted app interceptions, Sky and Encrochat highlight the fine line between a businessman and a criminal convicted of trafficking, prostitution and drugs.

Names that until yesterday were seen as successful businessmen in the country, builders and even strategists, the wiretapping reveals as members of criminal groups, ordering murders and even convicts.

Such is the case of Mentor Mezin, known as Tor Lushnjari, sentenced to over 8 years in prison by the court of Lushnja and the Appeal of Vlora for exploitation of prostitution in aggravated circumstances. Until 2021, Mezini was engaged as a builder mainly in Tirana. In July of this year, he became a strategic investor with the Drymades Beach Resort project and the company Bluebay shpk.

But when it seemed that the person convicted of prostitution had reached the top, the voluminous file of Sky and Encrochat arrives at SPAK.

Among the thousands of pages of transcripts of this file, the special prosecutor's office also found the name of Mentor Mezin.

The latter appears in the investigations that the special prosecution has launched against the three Berata brothers, Astri, Endri and Klajdi Merkaj .

In addition to the three brothers, their family members and social circle are also under investigation, as there are suspicions that they may have hidden the wealth in their name. Mentor Mezini also appears in the social circle .

SPAK's investigations so far raise doubts about the connection between the Merkaj brothers from Berat and the brothers from Elbasan, Franc and Hajdar Çopja .

Because the file is in the investigative phase, we will not publish the content of the messages, but what is emphasized is the fact that Mentor Mezini is a close connection with the Merkaj brothers, and is one of the people who manages the money of the people of the world of crime who are there in Dubai.

What is known is that upon being informed of these investigations by SPAK, Mentor Mezini has set in motion to save his property.

The first move is the sale of the shares of the company " Blue Bay Shpk" , which owns the status of the strategic investor of " Drymades Beach Resort" .

Mezini has signed a conditional sale contract of the shares he owns in this company in the value of over 10 million euros.

Also, he has withdrawn, at least temporarily, from the project for the construction of towers in the area of ??the Artificial Lake of Tirana.

Sources told VoxNews that the permits for the lake dam were sold to businessman Armand Lilos, the owner of the company ArlisNdërtim . 

SPAK is also investigating him for the fact that he was part of the group of Dizdar and Rexhepi, while currently he has strong ties to politics and stable partnerships with big businessmen in the country.

In the investigative file that the special prosecutors have in their hands are photo materials, meeting places and intercepted conversations with politicians and well-known businessmen.

' Tor Lushnjari ' until recently was guarded by bodyguards, part of the RENEA forces, who have already left after the initiation of in-depth investigations by SPAK.

Regarding the officers in question, the special prosecutor's office has opened another file to find out how it happened that the employees of the structures in charge of law enforcement changed sides and put themselves in defense of a suspected drug trafficker.
