The initial project envisages that this military area within the commercial port of Durrës will occupy an area of ​​50 ha, while the quay itself will have a capacity of 800 linear meters, with a depth of 13 meters so that large warships can be anchored.

But a few days ago, the Port Authority of Durrës announced the modification of the framework agreement/contract. The change is made by the Control Authority, which will not change the nature of the prosecution contract with the object " Design of the Detailed Technical Project (Detailed Design) of the New Integrated Commercial Port of Durres in Porto Romano ", with No. REF-97696-06-08-2021.

The essential project is the construction of a base for the Naval Force in the Republic of Albania, connected to the road and railway network. The Command of the Naval Forces, coordinating with the American representatives, who with the General Staff have sent the specific requests, of the Port Authority of Durrës.

The infrastructure project for the Armed Forces, according to the MASTERPLAN, does not comply with the capacities required by NATO. She requested the amendment of the initial contract, changing the implementation period and the total value of the procurement contract. The value of the amendment does not exceed 20% of the value of the initial contract.
