GoFundMe rejects Gramsci's Russian 'spy' funding request

GoFundMe, the well-known international platform for collecting donations, has rejected the initiative of the supporters of the Russian blogger, Svetlana Timofeeva, arrested in Albania on charges of espionage.

The platform has notified the initiators about the decision and has started refunding all donors.

By the time the initiative was blocked, around 24,000 euros had been collected, which the supporters of the Russian known as Lana Sator on social networks said they needed to pay the lawyer's office for her defense in court.

The Court of Appeal of Durrës left in force this Tuesday the prison arrest decision for the Russians and the Ukrainian arrested on August 20 in the former mechanical weapons factory in Gramsh.

The prosecution has charged them with espionage, while the suspects deny it, stating that they are just bloggers and visitors.
