"Millions are stolen every day in Albania"/ What worries Tom Doshin who is angry with the Socialist Party?!

Tom Doshi , the chairman of the Social Democratic Party and an ally of the Socialist Party for 12 years, has exploded with accusations during the opening of his campaign in the city of Shkodra.

In harsh tones, Doshi described the mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, as a character linked to crime and who is under investigation for theft.

The PSD leader has not spared the government either, saying that half of it is in prison for corruption.

"In 2013, Sali Berisha left power as corrupt. Even today it is hard to see half of the government in prison and under investigation. People who steal from citizens do not belong to us. The Mayor of Shkodra, who is leading the SP campaign, is a defendant. How can a man who has stolen from citizens lead the campaign? I have great confidence, not only in Shkodra, but in all of Albania, that the people will vote for us. We are the only hope. How can we go to Europe when our pensions are 100 euros?! How can we go to Europe when we have not yet divided the lands?!", Doshi began.

Criticism was also directed at the Ministry of Health for incompetence and mismanagement of the health service in Albania.

"Our program is a social program. It is for the poor, for the sick. You have 7 thousand new cases of cancer per year. 80 thousand Albanians are affected by cancer. To do an analysis with a PET scanner is 1500 euros. Do you know how much that device costs? One million euros. We have one PET scanner in Albania and it is private. Kosovo has 5. This is the duty of the state. Albania needs 8 of these. We undertake that Albania has these 8 devices to serve Albanian citizens and the sick. What are 10 million euros for the government?! New hospitals are inaugurated every day, millions are stolen. There are 80 thousand families who suffer, 66 thousand in need in Shkodër. I appeal to these 80 thousand families, vote for the Social Democratic Party. I also appeal to the Diaspora, think about these one million poor people in Albania", the PSD leader added.

This sudden deviation in Tom Doshi's stance towards Edi Rama's government does not yet have a clear explanation.

Rumors are circulating that this tactic by Doshi is related to absorbing the electorate dissatisfied with the socialist government, but it is also an open pressure on Edi Rama, to reconfirm his party's position in the political market.

However, Doshi stressed that after May 11, he will never form a coalition with Sali Berisha.

"I promise you Albanians, that without the Social Democratic Party there is no majority in Albania. Rumors have spread that Tom Doshi is forming a coalition with Sali Berisha... Edi Rama will form a coalition with Berisha before Tom Doshi. Shkodra starts with a victory with three mandates," concluded Tom Doshi.

Why is Tom Doshi angry with the Socialist Party and Benet Beci?

We recall that a few weeks ago, two PSD representatives, Gjek Sokoli and Rezarta Pode, were dismissed from their leadership positions in state institutions in March. 

Gjek Sokoli , who held the position of director of the State Health Inspectorate (ISHSH).

Rezarta Pode , director of the state security company “Illyrian Guard” for Shkodra. Sokoli and Pode are also members of the Shkodra Municipal Council. 

These departures fueled speculation about a possible breakdown in cooperation between the SP and PSD.  

Within the PSD , they say that this comes as a form of political revenge, from the PS Shkodra delegate, Mayor Beci.

In addition to the two leaders, it is learned that there have also been other departures to lower positions of PSD representatives.

This sudden development in Tom Doshi's stance towards Edi Rama's government does not yet have a clear explanation.

Some say that this tactic of Doshi is related to absorbing the electorate dissatisfied with the socialist government, but it is also an open pressure on Edi Rama, to reconfirm his party's position in the political market.

However, Doshi stressed that after May 11, he will never form a coalition with Sali Berisha .

The Socialist Party has 18 councilors out of 51 in total in the 'Shkodra Parliament ', while the Social Democrats have 11 councilors.

Berisha's DP has 12 councilors and 5 are Basha's.

With the merging of the votes of the DP and PSD , Mayor  Benet Beci  and the Socialists cannot decide alone to pass the draft decisions in the council.
