One of the most controversial tax inspectors is Elton Karapici, who has been holding high positions for nearly a decade. During this time, he has been a "prankster" for his superiors, but also for his own businesses, to impose fines on hundreds of legitimate businesses.

It seems that he uses a genuine enrichment scheme, as his family has flourished over the past 10 years, benefiting from lucrative permits or contracts.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, according to information that has reached the VoxNews editorial office, Karapici has launched a "campaign" in VIP businesses throughout Albania, right at the beginning of the season.

Dozens of businesses have contacted Vox News saying that officials and inspectors have told them that their "hands are tied" by Director Karapici. Any businessperson who wants to submit documents must "physically meet" Karapici.

Businessmen say that this is a typical extortion scheme, as Karapici has a heavy hand. And, despite numerous complaints that have been made to the General Directorate of Taxes, or even to the Prime Minister, Karapici has still not been stopped!

Who is protecting Karapic?!

His long tenure in office has made Elton Karapici a schemer, being used by several political and business factions. He is "used" to impose fines on opponents, while the failure to take measures against him has brought stagnation to the entire tax system.

There are strong suspicions, whether from interest groups or anyone else, that Karapic has already become a big businessman himself. The profit figures are close to zero, while he himself acts against the government that appointed him.

Who is Karapic himself?!

An economist who has been working in Taxation for 10 years, while his family members have also been economists. His wife, Adela Karapici (Shera), was also Deputy Minister of Economic Development, while she now works as a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics.

Elton's father-in-law, Sabri Shera, owns a construction company, while he was arrested a few months ago as part of an operation called "false contracts", after he had sold an apartment several times.

Are the headliners aware?!

The information that businesses have brought to Vox News shows that the heads of state are aware, but the long time in office and the connections that Elton Karapici has created have made him untouchable so far. He has been "used" by several Tax Directors, while even the arrival of Mr. Ilir Binaj at the head of Taxes has not changed the situation.

But, Karapic's name has gone very high, since the changes in the Ministry of Finance, where the minister is now Mr. Petrit Malaj, the situation has changed. All these inactions have led to businesses being insecure, under pressure and fined and no one is taking any measures. It seems like an orchestration from afar, while Karapic has found the strings and is acting freely.

Perhaps, until some action by law enforcement agencies or even SPAK itself!
