Dozens of trucks loaded with Albanian products have been blocked for three days at the border point of Morina in Kukës.
The reason was the decision of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, to stop any vehicle transporting goods with Serbian license plates from entering the territory of the country. But this has had negative effects for Albanian products as well.
Truck drivers say that the ban came without warning, despite the fact that the goods are Albanian and destined for Kosovo and Serbia. They call for trade not to become a victim of politics.
"We have been here for three days, because the government of Kosovo does not allow the entry of vehicles with Serbian license plates. We have loaded Albanian goods to send to Ferizaj. This is not normal. We bought fast food. We are forced to take a taxi to go to town to buy food."
"We are sleeping in the cabin of the vehicle, stuck at the border. They have to buy ready meals every day. We are in difficulties for the necessities of life. Yesterday, more trucks were at the border and returned. They fled from Montenegro to enter Serbia".
