Albania is experiencing in 2023 the best historical year in terms of tourism. For the 11th month, according to INSTAT data, 9.5 million foreign citizens entered the country, with an increase of 33.2% compared to the same period a year ago.

In addition to the high flows in the summer months, which culminated in August with 2 million citizens entering the Albanian territory, tourism is being extended beyond the traditional season. In November, according to INSTAT, 547 thousand foreigners entered the country, or 53% more than the same month of the previous year. While in October the entries almost doubled, reaching 691 thousand (+89%).

The previous data of INSTAT show that the citizens of Kosovo are the ones who continue to hold the main weight with about one third, while this year for the first time the Italians are ranked second, with about 9-10% of the total. Market operators are optimistic that the positive trend will continue in 2024, based on the bookings they have received so far.

According to INSTAT, there are 1,099,343 arrivals of Albanian citizens and foreigners in the Albanian territory in November 2023.

This indicator results in an increase of 35.9%, compared to November 2022. The exits of Albanian citizens and foreigners from the territory of Albania, during the month of November 2023, are 1,074,479, marking an increase of 28.2%, compared to the same period of the previous year. In November 2023, the number of Albanian citizens who entered the Albanian territory is 552,122.

This number has increased by 22.6%, compared to November 2022. The number of foreign citizens who have entered the Albanian territory is 547,221. This number has increased by 52.7%, compared to November 2023. During the eleven months of 2023, the number of foreign citizens who entered the Albanian territory is 9,533,501.

This number has increased by 33.3%, compared to the same period of 2022. The exits of Albanian citizens from the territory of Albania, during the month of November 2023, are 554,656. Compared to November 2022, this indicator has increased by 19.8%.

The exits of foreign citizens from the territory of Albania during the month of November 2023 are 519,823. Compared to November 2022, this indicator has increased by 38.6%. The number of Albanian citizens who left the territory of Albania during the eleven months of 2023 is 6,303,647, increasing by 20.1%, compared to the same period a year ago.

In November 2023, the region with the highest number of foreign nationals entering Albania is the region of Europe with 525,182 citizens, followed by America and East Asia/Pacific, respectively with 14,100 and 3,577 citizens. In November 2023. compared to November 2022, the entries of foreign citizens note:

• increase, for personal purposes by 52.5%;

• growth, for vacation purposes, visits to relatives. etc. with 53.9%;

• increase, for business and professional purposes by 62.0%
