Yesterday, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tirana was transformed into a celebration, as Gentjan Shaqiri, the Formula 3 champion, newly crowned by the International Automobile Federation, in the "Hill Climb" category.

The Albanian champion's crowning ended Laszlo Szasz's decade-long dominance in the championship, placing him alongside racing legend Christian Merli, the 2020 champion. Behind his success lies the Renault Tatuus 2000 model, an ultra-light and powerful racing car, built for speed and precision. Powered by a 2.0L Renault F4R engine, it produces 200-220 horsepower, reaching 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 230-250 km/h. Equipped with a 6-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shift, double-wishbone push-rod suspension and ventilated disc brakes, this car offers exceptional control and maneuverability.

Shaqiri's triumph is not just a historic moment in motorsport - it is an example of discipline, precision and continuous improvement. "Whether in racing or in life, speed is nothing without control, strategy and knowledge. That is why financial education is crucial," Shaqiri told the audience.

This event was not just about celebrating motorsport; it also announced a collaboration between Gentjan Shaqiri, the Faculty of Economics, and the “iutech” platform from iute, launching the series of open lectures on Fintech, which aims to equip students with real-world knowledge on fintech, digital transformation, and financial management.

The Dean of the Faculty welcomed this initiative, emphasizing the value of integrating practical financial knowledge into academic programs.

"With Gentjan's example and this collaboration, we are giving students the tools to navigate the emerging digital economy," he said.
