Yesterday at 6 am I accompanied 3 German colleagues to Berlin Brandenburg Airport who had decided to travel to Tirana.
When they told me why they would visit my hometown, I was surprised and had the pleasure of driving them to the airport by car, giving them as much information as possible about Albania, hotels, food, traditions, security, social life, etc.
They weren't flying for coastal tourism.
They were not traveling for historical tourism.
The reason was very simple. The three had decided to follow their music idol Dua Lipa. Dua Lipa also had her show in Berlin on September 10, but tickets in a good place cost over 1000 euros and were sold out months ago.
In Tirana, Dua Lipa would sing for free, that is, her friends were saving 3300 euros together. Meanwhile, plane tickets cost 60 euros round trip from Berlin to Tirana.
Two days in Tirana, with tickets, hotel, food, beer and wine cost less than half the price of a ticket to see Dua Lipa in Berlin. The graceful and talented girl who has charmed the planet is followed on social networks by nearly 200 million sympathizers.
Yesterday morning was very cold in Berlin and while we were drinking tea with my Berlin friends, I was reading and I showed you the insulting comments that Dua Lipa was made yesterday by thousands of Albanians on social networks because she had accepted the passport from the Albanian state KuqeZi and why there was a photo with the Mayor.
Surprised, the three asked me: " How is it possible that you have so few talents and world stars and you spit on them publicly ". I was silent and difficult to answer at first.
You simply said: " They don't love themselves, they don't love Duan anymore. " They are not to blame because they have a life in which they have accumulated a lot of bitterness, bile, anger, hatred and centuries of frustration .
Olaf interjected, showing me Dua Lipa's photo: "How can they hate the bright smile of this polar star?"
Ehhhh, I told him: " You are going to see Dua Lipa in Albania, but there most of them will be in front of the screen watching the soccer match of Cameroon or Morocco ."
Meanwhile, it was the last call for the flight to Tirana and my friends ran like crazy to enjoy and experience the magical night of November 28 under the sounds of what all humanity loves but not as much as its sisters and brothers.
Welcome to Albania
