Greek Prime Minister Micotaqis' finger pointing at Prime Minister Rama in the cast before the two of them joined the group of European leaders to pose as happy bureaucrats at the end of the day's calendar was the clear signal he gave to his nationalists and such an Albanian reminder that not everything goes well in life.

For himself. For Edi Rama, of course.

More than three decades have passed since the world changed and within it there are no longer two Europes. Since then, the Albanian hope was born to find its destiny again in that community that had met them from the beginning.

From that time this will remained mostly declarative. Because the will from the real-politics of the day are like the desire from the truth. The Albanian "Rubicon" on the road to the EU has had several definitions at different times: the change of the political system, parting with the past, the end of the transition, the restoration of the authority of the vote, the reliability of political institutions or the standards of good governance. .

The last Reform in Justice and its institutions.

Perhaps all these definitions taken together do not have a conditional character as much as only one of them, perhaps the least mentioned: the opinion of the neighbor.

Precisely the importance of changing the perception of the neighbor and the mindset about the border as primary conditions to overcome the open doors of the European Union.

This time too, Albania and North Macedonia did not know when the first chapter of the talks will start. Bosnia and Herzegovina, too. Montenegro and Serbia remained in that process as the same remnants as their neighbors. No difference even in Kosovo. Nor did she learn when the punitive measures will be lifted. Even more so and when the request for the status of the candidate country will be considered.

But they took the advice: to move forward with the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement and de-tension the situation.

But why does the Western Balkans suffer the disdainful exclusion of Europe, even though it is much more depressing than three decades ago?

A majority of regional geopolitical and internal political developments in the Balkans have played an inhibiting role in this process precisely because the unspoken condition of certification by the neighbor and submersion of the underground borders has not moved at the right pace. This is the reason why there is not only one Balkan, but two.

Precisely this observation, that the Balkans continue to be two-part, two-speed, two-oriented, without synchronicity, without the will to overcome regional antagonism, without the mindset that from now on the neighbor will no longer be a country that is part of the EU, but the most peripheral line of the latter, constitute a subject of deep meditation on the destinies of the countries of the region and on the remaining path towards European integration.

It is increasingly clear that there will be no such integration without regional-Balkan integration. Without a synergy of the constituent countries of the peninsula. Without overcoming the division in the two Balkans, without their general pacification, without the exorcism of hatreds inherited from the near and distant past, without the banishment of conflict and the spirit of contestation and exclusion towards the other.

In our case the border and inherited hatred turned out to be Beler and the nationalisms that surround this small Švejk of the Western Balkans.

But is this the truth?

Is the body language of the Greek and Albanian leaders, what spoke enough in front of the cameras? And why had they left that melodrama right there? Will we have to trust them to the end?

…

We support ideas or viewpoints that seem to bring us satisfaction. Deep down, although we may have doubts about their authenticity, we do our best to convince ourselves.

Our faith in these ideas is so ironclad that we violently oppose anyone who dares to cast doubt on them.

But this is only an idea, belief or ideal which in the end can be a prejudice. A bias that appears most clearly when we follow a cause or when we want to support a leader.

Prejudices that deeply make us easy victims of salesmen and demagogues who use persuasion as a way to deceive and influence us.

Leaders always know that people are hungry for entertainment, so they often dress their half-truths in the cloak of dramatic effects.

These are not lessons written on paper, nor advice on how to govern.

From the Bible we learn that these are called different laws of human nature.
