Prime Minister Edi Rama held a press conference today, June 3, where he spoke about the Zvërnec issue.

Rama said he supports controlling the funds for the purchase of properties in Zvërnec.

"I want to talk about the purchase of land in Zvërnec. I consider it positive that SPAK has kept the funds frozen, without letting them pass to the seller, for which there is an investigative process. This is positive for anyone who claims property in that territory. I support the control of funds for the purchase of properties in Zvërnec. If the seller has a legitimate origin of the property, he will receive the money. If he does not, the money will remain with the state and will be used for anyone who will prove that the claim on the property is well-founded," said Rama.

Commenting on the protests, he once again said that he is determined to continue the project he started in Zvërnec. He said that he is determined to follow the "instinct" that the Albanian people have set.

"This is an old movie, because there is nothing new here. Nothing moves me from the instinct that the Albanians have set for me. I pity the will of at least 800 thousand Albanians. Whoever wants to talk about the fact that the environment is endangered, can talk to me. But the people who curse me from the people at home, they are subjects only to God, they are not subjects to me. They resemble me and those of Golden Dawn, they are completely hardened. This war will end and everyone will get what is theirs. Albania will get what is theirs, by growing the country's economy", Rama said.
