Hundreds of Albanian immigrants who left for vacation in their homeland were stranded for hours on the road connecting Arta with Ioannina in a place called Filipiadha.

The situation was dangerous as buses and cars were forced to reverse on the opposite side for more than 1 kilometer on the highway to avoid endangering the lives of passengers from the fire.

The intervention of firefighters was required to bring the flames under control to enable the safe passage of buses with passengers.

While the situation in the Achaia area near the monastery remains dramatic.

Several houses have been burned while the road connecting Patra to Pyrgos has remained blocked for several hours.
