A family crime shocked Tirama on Saturday evening where 74-year-old Hekuran Gjoni took the life of his son, Asim Gjoni.

The domestic crime took place in the "Kodra e Priftit" area of ​​Tirana, in the Gjoni family's apartment. The elderly man confessed to the serious crime before investigators, while the entire incident took place in front of other family members.

Initially, the 74-year-old argued with his son, where in the course of the argument he slapped the 37-year-old, who then retaliated by pushing and hitting his father.

The old man fell to the ground, as did his daughter, who was trying to calm the bloodshed between her father and brother.

But, the 37-year-old also hit his sister, while after this act, the old man got up and took the bread knife, hitting his son several times.

The 37-year-old, father of two, was immediately transported to the Military Hospital, but unfortunately, as a result of the wounds he sustained, one of which was to the heart, he died.

The elderly man has been arrested for the criminal offense of "Murder due to family relations", while the investigative group is working to clarify the circumstances of the incident by taking testimonies from other family members.
