Killed Shpëtim Bajram in Thessaloniki, the Greek court sentences the
Leonard Kurti

46-year-old Albanian Leonard Kurti, accused of murdering 50-year-old Shpëtim Bajrami during a fight outside a gas station in Analipsi, Thessaloniki, was sentenced to 13 years in prison by the mixed jury of the Thessaloniki Court.

The motive for the murder, which was committed last year in July, seems to have been the victim's suspicion that the defendant was flirting with his partner.

Jurors found 45-year-old Leonard Kurti of Elbasan guilty of manslaughter in a relaxed state of mind, giving him the mitigating factor of inducement to act from the victim's previous misconduct. After the court's decision, he returned to prison.

In his complaint, 45-year-old Kurti claimed that he was in self-defense after the victim made a threatening move towards him, hitting him with hands and keys.

"He threatened me, blackmailed me, insulted me...", he said describing the events that preceded the murder. During the fight that broke out outside the gas station, he said he tried to calm the 50-year-old.

"I raised my gun to scare him, I shot to scare him." During the evidence procedure, a video was shown from the security camera at the scene, which captured the entire incident.
