Murder of acting judge, Court of Appeal suspends trials, lowers flag to
Court of Appeal

The Court of Appeal in Tirana has suspended all trials that were scheduled to be held today, a day after the massacre that shook the country. A young man shot and killed Judge Astrit Kalaja inside the courtroom.

The flag that stands on the facade of the justice institution building is lowered to half-mast, as a sign of respect to remember the late judge, who lost his life in the line of duty.

Three people have been arrested in connection with the serious crime, the perpetrator Elvis Shkambi, his uncle, Gjon Shkambi, and the court security guard.
