The Korça Court has relaxed the security measures for Leonidha Guçe and Denis Meçe, arrested for the murder of Eglantin Proga in Pogradec.
After 15 months in Drenova detention, the court decided three days ago to remove them from their cells and place them under "house arrest," as their detention terms have expired.
Meanwhile, the Korça Prosecutor's Office continues the investigation and is still awaiting the expert report, where some of the footage appears to have been deleted.
The case was initially sent to trial with several defendants, but after Denis Meçe's testimony at the prosecution, the case was returned for reinvestigation. Investigators are now awaiting the results of an examination being conducted at a computer lab in Italy, in an attempt to recover the lost footage and clarify the role of the suspects in the incident.
The serious incident that occurred in August in Pogradec, where Elgi Proga was killed, led to the arrest of 2 other people who are accused of "Failure to report a crime" and "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth."
