The University of Tirana and the University of Medicine for the first time receive the accreditation of the institution with the maximum value of 6 years.

The Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education announces that after evaluating five areas, it has approved the final positive evaluation for the institution of higher education, University of Tirana, with two recommendations. 

Rector of the University of Tirana, prof. dr. Artan Hoxha thanked all the academic staff for their contribution.

He said that " the editing of UT was a comprehensive process, which showed the values ​​and dedication of each of you. This moment comes naturally as the certification of the hard work and dedication of the academic staff, academic assistants, administrative staff, students, collaborators of the University of Tirana and all our former students who with their achievements are a solid support of an alumni who will made every HEI proud".

According to ASCAL, the University of Tirana should support and further promote the academic staff, in order to increase the quality of scientific research and publications in quality journals with a high impact factor. While the second recommendation concerns the official website of the University, where it is requested to update its official website in Albanian and English, with information on the Career Center, UT Library, Online Library, Scientific Publications and Journals . The final deadline for the accreditation of the institution of the University of Tirana is January 26, 2029.

The final positive assessment with a duration of 6 years was also given to the University of Medicine, Tirana, but with three recommendations. The institution supports and further promotes the mobility of academic staff and students. To support and further promote the academic staff, to increase the quality of scientific research and publications in quality journals with a high impact factor. It should also update its official website with information related to the scientific research work of the academic staff.

In addition to these two universities, the Security Academy also received accreditation for 5 years, as well as the University of Korça "Fan Noli" for 4 years.
