"I am God", the two bosses of the Albanian mafia in Rome who started
Albanian mafia in Rome, 120 years in prison for the two gangs that started the merciless war on drug trafficking

On one side, the gang of the "Drug Lord" Elvis Demçe and on the other, Ermal Arapaj, the so-called "Ufo" and his people.

Two bloodthirsty drug-trafficking organizations in Rome, Italy, with mafia methods, which now find themselves united with over 120 years of sentences handed down by the Court of Rome.

Demçe, with a shortened trial, was sentenced to 18 years in prison, while Arapaj will have to stay behind bars for 16 years.

The sentences for the other 12 people range from a minimum of 4 years and 6 months to a maximum of 9 years and 8 months, while two other defendants in the group were found not guilty.

On October 29, the Rome Prosecutor's Office requested 187 years in prison for all members of the drug trafficking groups.

The Italian investigation file talks about the rise of Elvis Demçe, the last Albanian boss, crowned as such after the arrest of his predecessors, Arben Zogu and Dorian Petoku.

The 36-year-old's gang was founded in 2020 and saw rapid growth in the hashish trade, with revenues reaching up to €4 million.

At the center of the conflict was the control of drug trafficking that had invaded Rome from Castelli Romani, until the alliance with Fabrizio Piscitelli's gang, "Diabolic" in Ponte Milvio.

Accusations against the two groups ranged from extortion to threats accompanied by videos and photos to alert rivals to their brutality.

Demçe, who has a tough appearance, referred to himself as "God". With a deep-rooted conviction, he said: "I am God".

He wrote it on social networks, using his nicknames, "Spartacus" or "Perseo", to which a strong symbolic meaning was attached.

In his absence, the drug trafficking squares were taken over by Ermal Arapaj, an Albanian like him and head of another very "respected" organization.

When Demçe was in prison for the murder of Federico Di Meo, 30 years old, "Ufo" tried to gain ground, taking the drug squares, Velletri and Acilia.

This led to clashes between the gangs, who started gun battles, attempted murders, and set cars on fire. After these events, they managed to fall on the tracks of the police.

The criminal groups led by Ermal Arapaj and Elvis Demçe, who led the rival group, were arrested by the police after a 'Blic' operation, which took place on the morning of January 18.

27 people were arrested, avoiding in this way several possible murders, for drug trafficking.

The intercepted conversations confirmed Demçe's hatred towards his compatriot, who after his arrest had taken over the management of the area, but without giving him any economic relief.

The lack of compensation led Demçe to plan an ambush against his rival on July 9, 2020, in the municipality of Lanuvio.

An ambush, in which Arapaj managed to escape, shooting first and hitting one of the people appointed by Demçe in the leg.

On the morning of September 5, 2020, Demçe's group opened fire in Velletri, damaging the villa and cars of Arapaj and his partner.

A violent escalation that forced Arapaj to flee to Spain, fearing reprisals.

Upon his return to Italy, Arapaj had started planning the murder of Demçe, hindered by the investigation of the 'Alba Bianca' operation, on February 9, 2021, where "Ufo" ended up in handcuffs.

A war between two compatriots, which the media described and compared as "Albanian Gomorrah" in the streets of Rome.
