The 46-year-old Albanian name Bushi, who was captured in a shepherd house in Britain, has been sentenced to 2 years and 3 months in prison.
The Albanian hid in a wall for two hours on the morning of July 23, as detectives raided a warehouse, where inside it they discovered elaborate cannabis cultivation, complete with residential premises, kitchen and bathroom.
Police found about 3,577 cannabis plants, with a value ranging from £1 million to £2 million. A few hours later, detectives discovered 46-year-old Bushi Name hidden in a cavity between two walls.
He was arrested on September 11, 2001, and on September 11, Warwick Crown Court sentenced him to two years and three months in prison.
Detective Constable Pitt, while saying the seized amount of cannabis is a huge amount, stressed that those involved in cannabis cultivation will sooner or later be caught.
"Most cannabis produced in this country is now made by violent and dangerous criminal gangs who terrorise communities and rely on drug revenue to continue their violence. We welcome this conviction and are delighted to have been able to seize such a substantial amount of drugs. Our message to criminals trying to open shop in Warwickshire is simple we will see you sooner or later."
