While former Lezha mayor Fran Frrokaj has been wanted since December 23 after the Court of Appeals' decision to return him to prison, the latter has appealed to the Supreme Court.
Frrokaj requests the Supreme Court to suspend the sentence handed down by the Special Court of Appeals until the appeal is reviewed by the Supreme Court.
The former senior official must serve 2.8 years in prison for abuse of office. The first instance of the GJKKO sentenced him to 1.4 years in prison but the appeal doubled it. After receiving the execution order, the police conducted searches in the apartment but did not find him.
Fran Frrokaj, at that time mayor of Shenkoll, along with other former officials, favored the registration of 82 real estate properties for several people.
Frrokaj has also been sentenced to 2 years in prison by the Shkodra court, again related to the alienation of properties in the Rana e Hedhun area in Shëngjin. He was released from prison a short time ago, after benefiting from an amnesty, but will now return to prison.
