The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, reacted today through a media conference regarding the arrest in Fushë-Krujë of the much-wanted Ylli Zalla.
Berisha accused the Minister of Interior, Albán Lamallari, of deceiving citizens about the manner of Zalla's arrest, claiming that he was not arrested by the police, but surrendered himself.
Commenting on several recent criminal events in the country, Berisha said that Albania is "totally in the hands of crime," while criticizing the way in which, according to him, the police and the government have reacted to recent cases.
"These days have proven to Albanians that the country is completely in the hands of crime. In Saranda, the one who should be fighting crime goes to a disco and in impermissible acts disturbs the citizens in the bar, forces the bodyguards to take him out of the bar like a thug, and then the police rush in against them."
In Elbasan, as you saw, during lunchtime, in front of the cameras, in front of all the citizens, the murderer puts the barrel of his gun to the victim's head, without any hesitation or concern. After the arrest, the slander of both the criminal and the victim begins, in accordance with the doctrine of 'let's eat each other's heads'.
A wanted man, Ylli Zalla, has TNT planted in his apartment and holds a press conference in front of the house destroyed by TNT. He accuses the police of being the possible perpetrators of the TNT. Lamallari deceives the citizens, says he was arrested, while Zalla surrendered himself.
"How can there be a surrender other than appearing at a press conference, only Lamallari's empty mind can qualify it as an arrest. He surrendered," Berisha said.
