Rinas Airport breaks record in July: 1.65 million passengers, over 58 thousand in just one day

Tirana International Airport has recorded another significant record in air traffic, with nearly 1.65 million passengers processed during the month of July alone.

According to data published by Tirana International Airport, the number of passengers in July was 28.1% higher compared to the same month last year, while the annual growth reached 19.4%.

Another record was set on July 27, when 58,805 passengers checked in at the airport on 329 commercial flights in one day.

July's traffic volume is even larger than before the pandemic. In just one month, TIA processed about 50% of the number of passengers it had registered in all of 2019.

According to the airport, the increase in traffic has also placed a significant burden on the staff and structures operating at the airport, especially during high summer temperatures.

Tirana's traffic growth has also been noted by the Airports Council International for Europe. In its April 2026 airport traffic report, the organization ranked Tirana as the airport with the fastest monthly growth in the major airport category.
