Tragedy in the air: Albanian passenger dies as plane lands in Bologna

An 85-year-old Albanian citizen died last night as a result of a health problem that struck him during the landing phase of a Ryanair flight coming from Tirana and landing at Bologna's Marconi Airport, shortly after midnight.

The elderly man, according to initial information, was traveling with several family members and already had serious health problems, to the point that he had sought medical assistance while disembarking from the plane.

At the exact moment of landing, he allegedly suffered a cardiac arrest, which left him with no chance of survival.

The 118 emergency teams, which had been notified earlier, immediately intervened, but there was nothing more that could be done for the man. (Rai News)
