Two young Albanians, Samira Xhaferi and Albi Çela, tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 11. The tragic news has shocked the Albanian community in the US and in Albania, while their families have opened a GoFundMe campaign to bring their bodies home.

According to the fund's initiators, Samira, 27, was a doctoral student at Cleveland State University, known for her dedication, intelligence and passion for scientific research. While Albi, 30, was finishing his studies at Cleveland State University Law and was preparing for the bar exam.

Engaged and inseparable, Samira and Albi shared a love for books, for knowledge, and for the world of "Harry Potter," which connected them even more in their daily lives. Friends and relatives describe them as two calm, kind, and loving young people who brought warmth wherever they went.

"Their loss has left an immeasurable void in our families and in the community they touched with their light and compassion," the open appeal reads.

The campaign aims to raise the necessary funds to transport the bodies to Albania as well as for funeral and memorial expenses. The families appeal to all Albanians everywhere to contribute according to their ability or to share the initiative to honor their memory.
