A 20-year-old man of Albanian origin has been arrested by Italian police. The young Albanian man did not comply with the carabinieri order to stop while moving with a Fiat type car he had rented and attempted to escape at speed along with three other passengers.

The 20-year-old was captured by servicemen on via GB Grassi in Caserta, in the Briano area, after being involved in an accident due to manoeuvres he made during the escape.

The chase, which continued at great speed through the streets of that village to the roundabout in San Leucio, towards Vaccheria, ended when the arrested man, driving the car, having performed extremely dangerous manoeuvres for the numerous drivers present in both lanes, lost control of the vehicle, initially hitting the traffic island near the roundabout and then overturned several times, stopping on the right side of the road.

Despite the violent collision, three of the four people in the vehicle, all apparently unharmed, continued their escape on foot, losing track of their surrounding village, Italian media write.

The carbiniers, after securing the area, took out the driver who immediately tried to escape on foot but could not and was stopped by police.

On board the vehicle, the soldiers found several hats, a radio and two mobile phones. The car involved in the accident and the material recovered were seized.

After formalities, the arrestee was sent to house arrest, available to the competent judicial body. Meanwhile, investigations are being carried out by the Carabinieri of Casagiove station, with the aim of identifying the fugitives.
