The thermometer is expected to mark over 40 degrees Celsius in some cities of Albania, starting from the weekend and throughout the next week.

Meteorologists predict hot days in the entire region, including Greece where the temperature is expected to exceed 44 degrees in some cases. The neighboring country was involved early in the summer fires, and so far there are more than 30 such fires.

As for Albania, the African heat will bring temperatures up to 39 degrees Celsius in Tirana on Saturday and Sunday.

In Elbasan, a record of 41 degrees Celsius is expected, while in Fieri , Kukësi , Shkodra , and Gjirokastra , temperatures are expected to range from 19 to 39 degrees Celsius.

Cooler weather is forecast in the coastal cities of Saranda and Vlora , with high temperatures expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius, and lows of 23.

Between 33 and 32 degrees, Durrës and Velipoja are expected to escape the heat wave, at least until the end of this week.

Korça and Pogradeci will be affected by temperatures ranging from 18 to 34 degrees Celsius.
