One of the main and convincing evidence of the special prosecution for the theft of European Union funds involving Ilir Beqaj himself is the latter's phone.

In the SPAK file, investigators managed to unlock the iPhone 15 type phone with security code 4563 which was seized during the search of the apartment.

On this phone Ilir Beqaj, according to "Ora News", there turns out to be group chat communications with tourism minister Mirela Kumbaro.

In the conversations recorded and written in the criminal record, there are some communications where they talk about an article that talks about the replacement of Ilir Beqaj by the General Director of SASPAC and other communications talk about meetings, lunches, vacations, etc.

Also found were e-mails from the "[email protected]" address, e-mail in English sent to the address [email protected], subjected to "Invitation to the International Tourism Forum of UNWTO and the Ministry of Tourism and Environment of the Republic of Albania, 3-5 April 2023".

So SPAK suspects that at the time when chats were held between two colleagues, they were aware of the projects in question.
