The whole world commemorates the 8th anniversary of the canonization of the outstanding humanist Mother Teresa.
8 years ago, on September 5, 2016, the great mother of the poor, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, was declared a saint.
Pope Francis recognized her two miracles of healing the sick after her death in 1997. The nun was 'beatified' in October 2003 by Pope John Paul II.
He approved the first miracle after her death. A 30-year-old woman in Calcutta said she was cured of a stomach tumor after Mother Teresa's prayers. A Vatican committee said it could find no scientific explanation for her recovery and declared it a miracle.
On this marked day, Mother Teresa is commemorated by the highest heads of state and politics. The first to share a reaction was Prime Minister Edi Rama, who describes Mother Teresa as the woman of peace in the world.
" Good morning, and on this day of the sanctification of the woman of peace in the world, the Albanian Mother Teresa, I wish you a beautiful day" , writes Rama.
President Bajram Begaj also commemorated Mother Teresa on the 8th anniversary of her consecration.
In a post on Facebook, Begaj writes that Mother Teresa is an example of the power of spirit and faith, who devoted her life to the suffering.
" Today we celebrate the day dedicated to the holy Albanian daughter, Mother Teresa, an example of the power of spirit and faith, with a life spent in dedication and service to the suffering. Her lessons remain an inspiration for every Albanian and all of humanity"
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, delivered this message on Mother Teresa's Sanctification Day.
"Today, September 5, we commemorate the Day of Sanctification of Mother Teresa, a name that symbolizes compassion and altruism. Her legacy is a guiding light for all of us", writes Veliaj.
