A quantity of explosives was placed during the night near the apartment building of Zef Kola, effective order in the village of Manati around 02:00 after midnight.

As a result, there was only material damage from the explosion, while no injuries were reported. In the testimony given to the investigators, Zef Kola stated that there are no conflicts, asking for clarification of the incident.

Meanwhile, his son Alen Kola was a candidate for the chairman of the democratic party in the elections held by Rithemelimi i Berisha. 

At the time of the incident, the members of the Kola family were asleep and as soon as they heard the explosion, which was powerful, they left the apartment, notifying the police. The latter immediately arrived at the scene, starting investigations into the case.

Also, the specialists of the Antiexplosive Unit from Tirana are expected to determine the type and quantity of the explosive substance. Meanwhile, the investigative group is expected to analyze the security cameras along the houses and businesses along the Lezhë-Milot road to see the movements before and after the event, while the main track of the investigation is focused on the task of 50-year-old Zef Kola, who for years has been part of state police structures.
