The hearing for Veliaj is postponed, the lawyer asks for time to familiarize herself with the documents

The Special Court postponed the preliminary hearing of the case against Erion Veliaj and his co-defendants to February 2. The mayor, who was present at the hearing, insisted on his request to be familiarized with the case files.

The court decided to close the judicial review, considering his and his lawyers' request for time to familiarize themselves with the file and their unwillingness to present their submissions abusive.

The court later overturned its decision. This came after the court-appointed lawyer for Veliaj, Valtentina Teodorescu, requested authorization to meet with Veliaj in custody and then to present her written submissions.

The court accepted her request and adjourned the hearing.
