The Prosecutor's Office of Lezha appealed and did not accept the decision on the sentence of 2 years and 10 months in prison.

Jeton Lami accompanied Ervis Martinaj while he was on duty as an agent of the Operacionale, causing the much-wanted justice to avoid the enemies and the checks that were made for his location.

The case has been drawn and will be judged by the member of the Supreme Court, Ilir Panda. He was found guilty after being accused of abuse of office, because instead of handcuffing Ervis Martinaj, he became his driver and bodyguard. .

In fact, Jeton Lami himself has appealed to the Supreme Court and claims innocence for this criminal offense.

He claims that he was not aware that Ervis Martinaj was wanted internationally by order of the Special Prosecutor's Office, since only his superiors knew the fact, but not him and the other agents of the Operational Force.

Jeton Lami turns out to be the last person who saw Ervis Martinaj, after he took him in the Audi A8 car and sent him to a hotel in Durrës, together with his girlfriend. The footage of the security cameras of August 7, 2022 and the second after, August 9, are the only ones where the person described as the "king of gambling" appears.

Since August 10, 2022, Ervis Martinaj has disappeared without a trace, and for this fact, the family filed a report with the Kurbin Police on the same date. They were the ones who found the footage from the security cameras days later, handing it over to the authorities, and Jeton Lami was identified there.
