The Supreme Court has not accepted the appeal of Jorgo Goro and the other defendants regarding the guilty verdict.

On the other hand, this same court has decided to overturn the decision on the issue of confiscation of property.

The former mayor of Himara was returned to prison on March 31, following a final decision by the Special Appeals Court of the Kosovo Criminal Court.

The Appeals Court decision confirmed the sentence of 2 years in prison, which, due to the summary trial, was reduced to 1 year and 4 months of imprisonment.

SPAK requested on March 31st the return of the mayor of Himara to prison, as according to calculations made, taking into account the time spent in detention, Goro still has 6 months and 10 days left to serve.

He was arrested on March 23, 2024, and during the investigation and trial at the Special Court he repeatedly claimed innocence. He was released in August of last year.

The case for which he was convicted is related to the alienation of a property in the Livadha area. For this case, he was also found guilty in the first instance by the Special Court on July 30, 2025.

Meanwhile, Goro had previously served 17 months in prison from another sentence of 2 years and 20 days, which was related to the alienation of a 10,000 square meter area of ​​land in the Gjileka area, Himara. In that case too, he received a reduced sentence due to the summary trial procedure, being released early.
