Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted today regarding the government's decision to close the social network TikTok in Albania for a period of one year, starting in January 2025.
Rama said that this decision is the result of consultations with parents and teachers, who expressed their concerns regarding the impact of the platform.
In a Facebook post, the head of government emphasized that over 90% of parents who participated in the consultation requested the closure of access to TikTok in Albania.
" GOOD MORNING and with the decision issued from 1300 meetings organized throughout the country by the Ministry of Education, attended by 65,000 parents, as well as from the survey conducted where over 90% of parents requested the closure of access to the Tik Tok platform in Albania, I wish you a peaceful Sunday ," Rama wrote.
