Tirana Police have criminally prosecuted 19 citizens who, according to them, organized and incited citizens to block the road towards the "Mother Teresa" International Airport on Sunday evening.
" Following the procedural actions carried out after the rally held on 14.06.2026, specialists from the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector carried out investigative and procedural actions to identify and prosecute the organizers and persons responsible for blocking the road towards the "Mother Teresa" International Airport."
At the end of the investigative actions, criminal proceedings have been initiated against the following citizens: GP, 36 years old; A. Ll., 29 years old; A. Ll., 27 years old; IF, 32 years old; EH, 33 years old; AK, 46 years old; F. Rr., 28 years old; VD, 29 years old; OB, 21 years old; DL, 57 years old; LN, 20 years old; AK, 29 years old; AM, 23 years old; TM, 24 years old; KZ, 22 years old; BP, 34 years old; Gj. N., 39 years old; LK, 33 years old; IM, 24 years old, for the criminal offenses of “Obstructing the movement of means of transport”, “Organizing and participating in illegal gatherings” and “Disturbing public order and peace”.
Two vehicles were also seized.
The investigation revealed that on 14.06.2026, at around 18:00, a rally was announced to take place in "Skënderbej" Square and then in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, in Tirana. The rally was scheduled to take place from 18:00 to 22:00.
During its development, according to the investigative actions carried out, the leaders and organizers of the rally called for the continuation of the movement of participants from the area in front of the Prime Minister's Office towards the "Mother Teresa" International Airport in Rinas, blocking the circulation of vehicles and the movement of citizens on this road axis. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further actions," the police statement said.
