Police official announcement about the incident at "Kthesa e Kamza": Dorian Kaso attempted to kill the police officer and take his weapon

The police have issued an official statement regarding the serious incident at "Kthesa e Kamza", where police officer Loren Rama was attacked with a knife while on duty near the "Casa Italia" area.

According to reports, the perpetrator Dorian Kaso approached the police officer from behind, holding a knife to his neck.

Thanks to his quick reflexes, Officer Rama managed to neutralize the aggressor in time.

In the leaked testimony the officer gave, he described the moment he was attacked from behind:

"For a moment I didn't understand who this person was, as I didn't know him at all. When I saw him put the knife to my neck, I reacted immediately and grabbed him with both hands," the officer explained.

The reasons for this serious incident are currently unknown.

Police Notification

He attempted to attack a Traffic Police officer on duty with a cutting tool and take his service weapon. The perpetrator was immediately neutralized and arrested.

The cutting tool (knife) is seized.

Specialists for the Investigation of Serious Crimes against the Person arrested citizen DK, 38 years old, in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offenses of "Murder of State Police employees", attempted, and "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons".

On 05.06.2026, at around 08:20, near the Kamza turn, the 38-year-old immediately put the cutting tool (knife) he had with him to the throat of a Police officer who was on duty, managing road traffic.

The 38-year-old also attempted to take the officer's service weapon, but was neutralized and immediately handcuffed by the Police.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
