The cleaning workers in Saranda have been coming out in front of the municipality for several days to protest. The reason for their protest is the low salary.
They state that they are paid only 24,000 Lek per month out of the 28,000 Lek that should have been paid since April. They do not hesitate to say that they were even pressured by the representatives of the cleaning company, that if they do not continue the work, it is not difficult for them to remove them and replace them with other employees, whether they come from Tirana and other areas.
So far, there has been no response from the AlcoImpekx cleaning firm owned by Arbër Abazi, the grandson of the former MP of the SP Sadri Abazi. The employees state that they were even told by the company to work for 26,000 lek in the summer months and to return to the 24,000 lek salary in September.
