Hotel in Vlora engulfed in flames, vacationers jump from balcony to escape! 7 injured, one in serious condition

A fire has engulfed a building in the Lungomare area of ??Vlora, where a hotel is also located. According to preliminary information, the flames initially started in the bar on the first floor of the building, and then spread to the second floor, where the hotel was located, as well as to the facade of the building.

To escape the flames and smoke, some of the people in the building came out of the balconies, as a video from security cameras that Report TV has shows.

As a result of the fire, 7 people were injured, six of them Kosovo Albanians and one from Rrëshen, who were taken to the hospital.

5 of them have been sent to Tirana for more specialized treatment. Two patients have been sent to 'Trauma' due to fractures, three to the burns department at the QSUT, while one of the injured is in the Surgery Department of the Vlora Hospital. One girl is in serious condition, with multiple burns.

In addition to them, there were also foreign tourists from Poland and Ukraine at the hotel.

"We were asleep at 4 in the morning, I don't know. We went out into the hallway, saw a lot of smoke. We closed the door, went to the balcony, flames. We jumped off the balcony, I don't know if I fell on the concrete," says a boy from Kosovo.
The source was the two refrigerators at the entrance of the bar, which are suspected to have suffered a defect in the electrical circuit.

Police and fire services immediately arrived at the scene and were able to contain the fire. Meanwhile, the building was initially evacuated due to the danger.

The entire building has been almost completely destroyed. Police services and relevant structures have launched investigations to determine the causes and circumstances of the fire.
